How can you tell if a large toner cartridge has been used without putting it in a printer?

1. Are the seals and plastic tabs still in place? If not, then it's probably been used.
2. Most cartridges (new) have a colored see-through adhesive tape over the ink slot to prove that it is new. It must be removed before use and it is difficult to replace to factory settings. NO TAPE, NO BUY!!! UNLESS, you had it refilled at a refill place (joint) and then you may not get the quality that you want. If'n ya ain't fussy, use refilled ones. It saves ya some money but ya takes yer chances. What do I use? Glad ya asked. Refilled, cuz I ain't fussy. ;-)
