Must replace Epson stylus Photo R320 - help!?

My printer died after 2 yrs & I need to replace it. I was very happy with the print quality, but NOT the expense of the ink cartridges and short life span. Some months, when I was busy with work, I would have to buy an entire set of inks ($100 or more). I am pretty sure I will buy 2 new printers - a large format photo printer & a second for small business usage. I am a pro. artist - so I need a printer to print good quality text (w/out text feathering) for billing, proposals, graphics, brochures on reg. paper. I also need to be able to print color reference pages for customers. I scrapbook & would like the option print out 12 x 12 - a large format printer. I am seriously considering the Epson 1400. It prints 13 x 19 prints with archival inks. I would use this for printing my photos and better reference sheets. I already have a Visioneer One Touch 8700 USB legal-sized scanner. I have reviewed the Canon MP 610, Pixma iP4500 and HP officejet L7680(a bit$$) Any suggestions?

  1. The 1400 is a good choice. I recommend Epson, particularly the cx series scanner/copier/printer (cx7400/cx8400) because of the print quality and the warranty. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Ink cartridges are expensive, but you can get cheap replacements for $5 which work well here http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
