HP Store Online

I just bought a hp photo printer and want to know what is the ideal pixel should have to print clear on 8.5x11

I want to print like a mike tyson picture off the internet but I don't want it to be a small size and then stretch it out to fit on a 8.5x11 paper. I want to get a picture thats as big or bigger than 8.5x11 so when I print it out it doesn't come out blurry. If the file size is to small and you stretch it obviously it will not come out to good.. so what is a good pixel I should look for when searching for images? (i.e 643 x 394, 200 x 300)

  1. i think 300x300 is good for most things
  2. Have your model number and serial number handy and call HP. They will answer all your questions and help you in any way they can. Find the 'Contact Us' number at: www.HP.com HP is great for this type of customer service.
  3. Ideally, you want a picture that fits the page correctly at 300 pixels per inch. Multiply 300 times the height and width and you've got a pretty optimal pixel resolution. Not that you'll find a picture on the 'net that will offer it. Photoshop CS2 has some good features for scaling up a picture. Just start with the highest resolution you can find so it will have detail.
  4. I Don't Know.
