No, the printer does not have to be the same brand as your camera. HP would like for you to have their Camera & Printer too, but there are an abundance of other printers out there that are affordable and still get the job done, as the HP would. Shop around, read online reviews on the actual printer you choose, before purchasing, to be on the safe side you can just ask if that printer is compatible with your camera. cheers!
