My HP Laser Jet 2300 Printer is "Whistling" when it prints...quite annoying?

Anyone know what causes an HP 2300 Laster Jet printer to "whistle" (high pitch monotone) when it prints? It is quite annoying. I've taken out the cartridge and fiddled with most of the moving parts short of a service check. Any ideas????? It is driving me nutts!!! Thanks!

1. Most commonly that is caused by the toner cartridge itself (internal components squealing on the drum, even if you just put it in, chances are it is a remanufactured cartridge and not a brand new one), try a new cartridge first to see what happens. If that doesn't correct the problem then it could be the fuser assembly or the main gear drive assembly. You may want to have a technician to look at it in that case, or purchase a replacement printer. Best of luck.
