I have a hp d1420 trying to install on windows 98?

It was the only printer at the local Wal-Mart and the sales rep said it should work. When I got home however the disc prompted me to upgrade my operating system. I current don't have the hardware or means of doing this right now so is there a way for me to get this printer to install? I don't need all the features just the basic print feature.

2. why ar u still using 98 in the first place?? if its a matter of xp being to expensive then just go and download it through torrent. --btjunkie.com-- look out for the ones that has been thumbed up by the dlers, ensures that they're the real thing.
