Why does vista periodicaly stop seeing my networked (wireless) printer?
I have my HP C5100 series printer hardwaired to my wireless router, the main pc is hardwired to this router also. Problem is, my laptop is wireless and sometimes it can see the printer and sometimes it see's the printer as offline and i have to 'add' the printer again for vista to see it. Any ideas?

- this is one of many "problems " with Vista Microsoft have launched this and as with a lot of their products , it is not properly tested , they rely on Joe public to point out the flaws and they attempt to fix them later . How many sotware packages do you have that are not compatible even symantec has compatibility issues
- i have similar problem to you although ours is a standard computer with everything wired. we have vista as its a new computer. quite often the printer (which we had a lot of trouble installing) doesnt print and the only way round it is to switch the whole system off and then restart it, the printer then prints
- itll be a power consumption thing, unsure if you can change it in your acpi settings as its a huge waste of power to have a printer perma on wireless there will be a rescan option somewhere negating add printer
