Does a new Toshiba wireless notebook need a cord connected to a 3+ year old HP printer? Bell South modem.?

The printer will not print but will turn on and give out a blank page.

1. Maybe you need to update the drivers? Is the new laptop Vista? if so, are there Vista compatible drivers for the printer? Try the HP website.
2. Yes the notebook needs a cord to go from the printer to the USB on the note book.. the modem has nothing to do with your printer just your internet connection...
