I have a wireless printer (HP 6840) and wondering how do I config the settings from the old to new router?

I am currently connected via USB, but I would like to be connected wirless to my new router...which it does not recognize even when i input the correct IP Address....

Step 1: To make Printer default to Factory settings: ----------------------------------------------------- To insure that the printer is set to factory defaults, follow these steps to reset the printer to the factory default settings: 1. Verify that the printer is powered on. 2. Press and hold down the Report Page button 3. While holding down the Report Page button, press the Cancel button three times. 4. Release the Report Page button. The above steps will make printer default to factory settings. Step 2: To get an IP address for the printer: --------------------------------------------- 1. Connect the Printer to the router using Ethernet cable. 2. Make sure that Printer is ON and Router is ON. 3. Press the button with a check mark icon on the Printer to print a Network report page. This should print a page, please make a note of Printer IP Address that printed on the page. Step 3: Installation of Driver: ------------------------------- 1. Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes. 2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer". 3. Click "Next" button on the first Add Printer Wizard window. 4. If the option for Local or Network printer appears, select Local printer attached to this computer and click Next. Make sure that "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer" option is unchecked. 5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button. 6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and configured. Click "Next" button. 7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the IP address as X.X.X.x ( that is URL of printer that printed in netwotrk configuration page) that you would like to assign the printer and click "Next" button. 8. under "Additional Port Information" select "Standard". Click Next, and then click Finish. 9. Click HaveDisk, and insert the HP Deskjet Printer Software CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. NOTE: If the CD-ROM auto runs and starts an installation program, exit that program 10. The "Install From Disk" dialog box appears. 11. Click "Browse" button. 12. Select CD drive from the drop down list box located at the top of the window. 13. In the Driver CD, (1)-- Double click on Enu folder. (2)-- Double click on Drivers folder. (3)-- Double cllick on Win2k_xp folder (4). --Double click on hpf6800k.inf File. 14. The Printer name will be highlighted on the next window. 15. Click "Next" button. 16. It ask for the Printer name (LEAVE IT AS DEFAULT) 17 .Select "Yes" option for making the printer default. 18. Click "Next" button. 19. The Printer Sharing dialog box will open. 20. Click "Next" button. 21. The Print Test Page box appears. 22. Select "Yes" option to print a test page. 23. Print Test Page. 24. Completing the Add Printer Wizard box appears. 25. Click "Finish" button and wait for the files to copy After the steps are completed, please proceed to the step 4. Step 4: Enabling the Wireless connectivity ------------------------------------------- 1. Please the New Internet Explorer. 2. Enter the following address at Address bar. http://x.x.x.x Where x.x.x.x refers to the IP address of the Printer that printed on Network configuration page. This will open the Ews page of the Printer. 3. Click on the Networking tab on the webpage. 4. Select the Wireless 802.11 tab there and click on the Wireless Setup tab there. 5. click on the 'Start Wizard' button there. 6. Go ahead with the on screen installation wizard. Please disconnect the Printer from the Router( remove ethernet cable between Printer and router), after the all the steps are completed. Try to print a page. This should successfully install the Printer in wireless mode.
