  1. sony.. because i loved the features and its a really good camera... canon is good too but i find it very bad at night scenes.
  2. For me it's Canon. The overall quality of everything including build, sensor, lens mount, processing - everything is the best I've ever owned.
  3. Both make excellent digital cameras. Cannon has been in the camera business longer. It really is personal preference. If comparing similar cameras and features, I would go with the camera offered at the best price at the time.
  4. To me that's almost asking what's better in DSLRs Nikon or Canon. After almost 3 yrs on Yahoo Answers I've recommended Canon more than any other brand. But, my first digital camera was a point and shoot super zoom 12X optical at 6 megapixels Sony. After almost 3,700 photos in almost 3 yrs is working as well as when I bought it (DSC-H2). This camera produces great enlargements. I now own a DSLR as of less than 2 months ago. I do believe it all depends on the Specific model you're interested in. If you like E-Mail me via my profile.
  5. For the most part, the quality of the image is essentially the same. Sony actually makes Canon sensors for the most part. Sony does use a better quality lens through - Ziess. They've been making glass for a long, long time. So if you're in the market for good glass, make sure that the sony you're looking at has Ziess written on the lens. Canon's lenses are really think glass almost plastic material. I've been dealing with camera's for far too long.
  6. I am all about the Canon i have purchased one from http://www.cameta.com and it has been one of the best purchases of my life especially in these bad economic times. I enjoy taking it out everyday and taking awesome pictures in the early hours. The quality i get with the pictures is unreal and it has been the best camera ever!
  7. it really is personal preference. i sell this cameras at bestbuy and these two brands are so similar sometimes the pictures don't even look very different. sony gives you a few on camera editing tools to adjust your pictures after you take them. canon on the other hand gives you more manual control to adjust the picture before you take them. i usually recommend canon because the parts they use are all universal (ie. SD card, mini usb, av cable) so if you have to replace them you may actually already own them. sony is very proprietary and use their own memory stick pro duo, and their own usb/video out cables (which cost about 25 bucks to order through them before shipping).
