which brand of laser printers is better for home use?? Brother? Hp? Epson? Or Canon?

I like to buy one which have a long life and no need to repair everyday. About 90$ to 150$ and not more. Is Brother 2270dw a good choice ? Thanks

  1. Canon by a mile.
  2. i have had several hp's and now a have a brothers j410w(all in one). i am more satisfied with it so far. i think the ink will be cheaper also. the price was around $65. it is not a laser, but if their laser printers are as well rated, i would go with the brothers.
  3. I have always liked Brother for two reasons. 1) Their products seem to hold up. Years ago there was a sale on the ml-2040 for $50. I bought two and told a lot of people about them. Of the many bought at the time, all are still working. All they ever needed was toner. 2) The toner is about the cheapest out there, usually about $30 for 3,000 page yield. The 2270 you mention uses the TN450 toner which is also around $30. Many other brands (particularly HP) force you to buy a drum with every toner, jacking up the price near $100. Some of them only yield 740 pages. For an idea of what Brother toners cost for different printers, you can look it up here http://ccs-digital.com/brother-toner.asp
