Network Printer Annoyance?

I use an OKI C6100 color laser printer as a network printer for my house, as it isn't in the same room as the router itself, i purchased a wireless range extender to connect to the houses wifi and produce ethernet connections for the printer to connect to. It works fine as the network printer, however when left idle for approx an hour it stops automatically printing when you send a document to it, instead it just stays in power save mode and doesn't respond to the computers at all...so what i have to do every time is turn off the printer, then turn it back on, let it reboot and then it'll work again....is there something i might be doing wrong or perhaps a method for ridding me of the annoyance? I've tried turning off the power save mode on the printer and it still does the same thing.

  1. From what I see, this printer is not a wireless printer on it's own, so you've apparently added a wireless print server, right? If you only have the wireless range extender as the wireless device for the printer, then I suspect that's the problem as it's probably not a proper wireless print server for a printer that it needs to be. A wireless extender is not the same as a wireless print server and will not work properly like you're wanting it to. Try an actual printer server adapter (i.e. USB to wireless print server adapter) and see if that makes a difference.
