Which Canon Digital Camera should I get, and which one can use optical zoom while recording videos?

I'm thinking about purchasing my 2nd digital camera and 1st from Canon. I have my eyes on 2 cameras, The Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS & Canon Powershot SX230 HS. Which one is better and which one allows me to use optical zoom while recording videos/movies? I'm leaning with the SX230 HS, but I would like your people's opinion and I appreciate and thank you in advance.

2. Above answer is questionable.. On-topic: Both cameras will allow you to use the optical zoom during video recording. Personally I would spring for the SX230 because it evidently has a longer optical zoom range and it also has manual exposure controls.
