What should i use to cool my laptop?

I own a pretty nice laptop. Its more like a mobile desktop. its an HP Pavilion dv7. it can do anything i need it to but at the cost of getting very hot. i know that its as easy as keeping it ventilated but sometimes that severely sacrifices comfort and practicality. It hard enough to find accessories for a 17+ inch widescreen laptop but i cant even get started with this. i know the most common is the cooling pad with fan. (1) but there are also the one that are basically just stands/pads with out fans. (2) and still there are others (3) considering i do move it around a lot, from my desk to my bed to my lap to outside any suggestions on the best way to keep my laptop cool. 1 http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/notebook-products/speakers/devices/6394 2 http://www.xpad4laptop.com/?gclid=CMic1dqZ7KoCFRAE2godRA3QPA 3 http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1135&id=1599

  1. well there are accessories that will comply to your needs. For me, the best thing to contrast heat is to make it cool so better use cooling pad.
  2. wat os u use? if u use xp, then open power scheme and select Minimum Power Management, this will force your cpu to become idle while not used. this is very handy to keep your cpu cool. if u use vista or 7 u want to set ur power option to power saver. i also have problem with my laptop, it become hot too much so i decided to change power scheme to low as possible, this will help my laptop cool enough to run. the most vulnerable part of your computer by temperature is perhaps your graphics card than your cpu, than your hdd. i'd rather choose xpad i never used it before, but it has flat surface become very hand to place your laptop on it
  3. The first one logitech is the best way to go. Or go to a local store and get one similar that is a lap desk that's plastic the laptop will cool itself. Those stupid inter cooler ones (lap desk with fans) have been known to overheat the laptop cause some pull air and some push air.
