  1. actually, neither of them are particularly good for gaming. the Toshiba has a Sempron CPU, which is really only meant for internet/web browsing. it would be fine for Online Gaming, like Flash Games and such, but not particularly well for non-flash PC Games. as for the HP one, its graphics are only integrated, and not dedicated, so many games will not work on it. the processor is definitely worlds better (rated 1306 vs. the Sempron's 503), but the graphics card on the Sempron laptop is the one to have. unfortunately, the processor and graphics are two things that are seldom upgradeable. instead, i would recommend a different laptop. neither of them meet the minimum system requirements for most of those games, but keep in mind that the minimum requirements will only allow for subpar game experience: no shadows or antialiasing, or any of the advanced effects that make the games fun and more realistic to play. UPDATE: sorry, i didn't realize you were a UK buyer! try this one: http://www.bestbuy.co.uk/product/1000160214/hp-g6-1133-156-red-laptop---amd-phenom-dual-core-750gb-4gb-memory.aspx you won't find a good gaming laptop for less than £350. anything less than that is going to be "not worth it". this one has a CPU rating of 1828 (PassMark Ratings), and a decent video card (plus a low price tag), it's not high-end gaming, but it will work for now, until you can afford a better laptop! let me know if you have any questions, or would like to know what a better laptop would cost :) ANOTHER UPDATE: your revised" Toshiba is considerably better, but is still somewhat weak performance-wise for gaming (other than simple games with not-too-complex graphics). would it play the games on your list? probably. would it play them VERY WELL? probably not. sorry!
