Is my new HP laptop computer's fan supposed to be loud enough for me to hear it?

it is an hp lap top model g62, Intel core 3 inside. its the cooling fan. its kind of loud sometimes.

Yeah, I have a new HP laptop. It is really loud. HP's can also be pretty heavy. If you can, go check out an Acer Aspire. I have one, and it is really quiet (silent) and really light. See if you can return it! (But yeah, it is supposed to be loud.
All laptop fans get a bit loud sometimes, especially when you're watching videos or playing games. I have a Mac and I notice the fan when I've been watching movies for a few hours.

I used to have a compaq laptop that was very loud at times when I was using it a lot. (over heating) Recently I bought the HP 8440p elitebook but got almost every upgrade.... it starts at $950 but I paid $2300..... I don't know if it was because of all the upgrades but mine is lightening fast and super quiet.
