- Yes it is now fixed. Here's the news from HP about the fix of Switchable Graphics, with that fixing the OpenGl problem. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/Official-HP-statement-on-Switchable-Graphics-and-Open-GL/td-p/766285 If in case yours still has the bios f.14 or f.17, go to HP site to download the new bios F.1A. That bios fixes the Graphics issue from dynamic to fixed mode. You'll have to put it on fixed mode so you can use opengl. Here's the steps after you install the bios F.1A, restart the computer, click ESC when computer is starting, press F10 for the bios, and look for the tab that mentions Switchable Graphics, then choose Fixed as the default is dynamic. Here's a copy of what the bios Fixes, Released:2011-07-22 Version:F.1A Compatibility:Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) Fix/Enhancement: - Fixes an intermittent issue where the battery does not property recharge. - Adds support for switchable graphics fixed mode. Also most in other forums, recommend the 1080p Anti-glare display over the Glossy 768p display. Hope this helps you and any that where worried about this. The link takes you directly to the Bios Link on HP Site. This has worked better than the dynamic. I have had this computer somewhat similar specs for about a month and really like it. Now more with the Switchable graphics that has been fixed. Overclocking works now too.
- After updating to the f1a bios i could run witcher 2 on medium at 1600x900.
