Wireless printing problem: I have a new Samsung laptop and a new hp wireless printer.?

Both are connected to my wireless network but they can't find each other. The laptop I have had longer and has always worked perfectly. I just got the printer. With a USB, I have no problems but I really need the wireless feature. I have already tried it through the printer set up software as well as the "add a wireless printer" option from the computer and it can't find it .. any ideas? I am using Avast antivirus.

1. You might need to open up a port in the windows firewall or in your antivirus. The port number will depend on your printer's configuration. If you have no idea what I'm talking about please consult someone who does.
2. I have 4 computers here in the house that are using the same wifi printer. All I did was install the printer in each of the 4 computers. During installation the printer should search for and find your wifi network. And connect to that network. Good luck. Have any questions send me an e-mail to: alpine8300@aol.com
