1. Look in the HP Product Selection Guide http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/hp-prod-selection-guide.pdf It will show you a comparative view including DPI for all monochrome laser printers in the company's product line.
2. I advise you to see several brands of printers before you buy one, can not rush into an HP, just because it's inexpensive does not mean that it's cheap and good.
