My wireless HP printer won't connect to my Internet connection?

Me and my girlfriend recently moved, we have had the printer hooked up before and it worked fine. Now that we've moved out, the printer won't connect to our wireless Internet connection. Do we need to re-install something? We have a HP deskjet 3050 wireless printer. We also have a windows desktop computer and my girlfriend's MacBook pro.

  1. When you moved, you unplugged the router and wireless printer. In so doing, you may have reset the router and/or printer back to its default settings. You need to get them to communicate with each other again by ensuring that the SSID (network name) and WEP or WPA key (passcode) in the router match with the same information in the printer. To do this, you have to log into your router and get this network information. Then you have to go to the printer and enter this information (SSID and key) into the printer as well. In other words, the router and printer settings need to match. If you aren't technical at all, get a friend to help you, or call tech support. For example, you could call Linksys to learn how to access your router (if you use a Linksys router), and you could call HP to learn how to plug the corresponding network information into your printer. Good luck.
