  1. You may be experiencing a static buildup issue with the paper. If there is not enough moisture/humidity in the paper and environment where the paper is stored and used, the paper can become too dry and allow static to buildup as the paper slides across each other as it's being pulled out of the paper tray. This can cause multiple paper sheets to be fed at one time as well as causing the paper to not feed at the correct speed due to the static resistance and cause the paper to miss the specific timing of hitting the paper path sensors at the right time and cause a jam error. Ideally humidity levels for printers and electronics in general, is around 30 to 50%, though levels of even around 15 to 20% usually work relatively well, though there's no guarantees. You need to check your humidity levels to see what they are where the printer and paper is at. If they're too low, you'll need to get a humidifier to use in the general vicinity of the printer to increase the level. Without seeing and testing the printer in person, it's difficult to say for sure what is causing the problem, but static is the most likely culprit from your description. The other thing to check is the paper tray paper guides to make sure they're set to the correct positions for the paper size you are using. If the guides are set to tightly or too long/wide for the paper, the paper will not be pulled properly from the tray causing paper jams as well. Feel for the little detents as you move the guides and set them at the detents for the paper size you have.
