Is there any way to by pass the hp hdmi to vga display adapter ?

1. You do need an active electronic conversion from digital (HDMI) to analog (VGA) that the HP adaper provides. A simple wiring adapter such as that HDMI to DVI converter won't handle the digital/analog conversion you need.
