How can I fix my HP laptops wifi device?

I just turned on my Hp laptop and it came up with this error message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. My laptop worked an hour previously so I just restarted it and now i cant connect to the internet. I have looked on a few websites and they said that this occurs when a card in the computer is modded or changed, but I have never even tried to do this. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

  1. possibly reinstall the drivers
  2. try system restore.
  3. go to the device manager and update the drivers there should be two listed. Atheros and realtek if one is missing from the device manager go to porgrams in the control panal the uninstal it then reinstal it. If you do not know how to do this go to start type in users guide to see if there is one if not go to hp/ compaq website under custumer sevice top of page, then scroll down to tec support to get the guide. you will need to do your homework to find out how to fix this problem if both are there you may need to update the drivers by clicking on network adapters then right clicking athros first then clicking on update then auto update. dothe same for realtek. if neither works you prob have an interal problem, and need to take it to a pro
