Which one of these laptops should I buy?

Basically I need to buy a laptop as my computer is slowly dying. I want to buy one pretty soon while there are sales on so I dont have to spend too much. I want a 500gb capacity and 4gb hard drive to allow me to watch videos, download music, etc. I need to know: - Are HP laptops reliable / fast / good for general use? As well as, which of these laptops are better? (These are two that I have found so far and feel inclined to buy..) 1) http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/hp-g62-b25sa-blue-laptop-07757096-pdt.html 2) http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-7205.aspx Which one should I buy?!

  1. The currys one i s better as it has a quicker processor in it (i3) but have a look at ebuyer.com
  2. HP laptops are pretty good. I've recently bought one myself (the dv7-4197cl), and it's been amazing. However, both of the laptops you've listed have pros and cons. the currys one has faster processor. Intel processors tend to be much faster than their AMD counterparts, and the intel processor in this laptop is much faster than the one in the tesco laptop. But, it has an integrated graphics card. Those are very bad if you plan on doing any form of gaming, video watching, or image editing. The website also doesn't list the hard drive speed, which on it's own has pros and cons. If the processor is slower, it can bog down the whole machine while sparing battery life. If it's faster, it can speed the whole machine up while devouring the battery life. The tesco one has a dedicated graphics card, which while the specific one isn't too great, it's still better than the graphics card in the currys laptop. The hard drive is also fast, which I mentioned above how good or bad that is. If I had to pick between the two, I'd buy the tesco laptop. But, remember to browse around on Newegg. They always tend to have better computers for cheaper prices than other computer websites.
