Which laptop should I buy?

I am in search of a new laptop that will run the sims 3 SMOOTHLY. Here are some of my choices. Sony vaio (on sale at a local store!!): AMD athlon II dual-core p360 processor 4 gb memory 640 gb hard drive AMD mobility radeon hd4250 graphics windows 7 premium 64-bit These next hp laptops I'm planning on customizing online so I'll include all upgrade options. HP G62x: Processor & graphics: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-370M Processor (2.40 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) + Intel(R) HD Graphics Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-370M (2.40 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) + 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5470 Graphics Memory: 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) 3GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) 2GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) Hard drive: 250GB 7200RPM Hard Drive 500GB 5400RPM Hard Drive 320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive HP pav g6t: Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual Core Processor P6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual Core Processor P6300 (2.26 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-380M Dual Core Processor (2.53 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-390M Dual Core Processor (2.66 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-480M Dual Core Processor (2.66GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics [HDMI, VGA] 512MB DDR3 Radeon(TM) HD 6470M Graphics[HDMI, VGA] 1GB DDR3 Radeon(TM) HD 6470M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] Memory: 3GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) 2GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) Hard Drive: 250GB 7200RPM Hard Drive 320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive 500GB 5400RPM Hard Drive 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive 640GB 5400RPM Hard Drive 750GB 5400RPM Hard Drive Sorry for the long list! But I wanted to include as many specs as possible. Any way, let me know your thoughts and which upgrade options to go for. Or if you don't think any of these are good enough, what other laptops do you think will work for me? My price range is 700 & below. I am also mainly using this laptop for school (internet access, email, writing 20398402384 page papers, etc.). I want the game to run smoothly - no lagging, decent graphics, and smooth game play (I have 2 hours in between my classes this summer and I'd like to have something to kill time!). I know it won't play as well on my desktop HP, but anything that will make me happy for a couple hours at a time will be just fine.

  1. If it falls under your price range, your best option is ATI Radeon 6470M 1GB, and 6GB memory. With thoses specs you could even play Call of Duty easily (just make sure the laptop has cooling vents on the left or right side and not only below). If not, then even 4 GB of memory is sufficient. The hard drive depends on your needs, but a 500 GB HDD would be quite enough. As for the processor you'd be fine with the core i3 390M.
