How do I fix an ink cartridge for my HP printer, that has worked before, but is now coming back incompatible?
I have an HP Deskjet F300 series printer. I recently purchased new ink cartridges for it and it printed fine for about a month. Now, while my supply levels are almost full, I'm getting an error message stating that "The black print cartridge is faulty or incompatible with this printer". I removed it and cleaned the dock only to find the same issue. Is there a way to override the error message? Is it my printer or the ink?

- Clean the contacts with strong rubbing alcohol. Printer too. If you still get an error, the cartridge is bad. Try a new one and I bet it won't do it. Then you have a printer problem if does it. Try and get a refund. Print the error screen and take it to where you bought it. I know Staples will give you another one.
- One more trick are try installing and removing the cartridge 9 or 10 times. Then with the cartridge installed unplug the printer for 60 seconds. http://www.unifiedtoner.com
- Have you tried turning the print off and unplugging it for 5 mins? Sometimes this can reset the printer. If that doesn't work, try doing the same, but remove the ink cartridges before you power down. And then after you power your printer up, you should be prompted to reinstall the ink cartridges.
