Are there HP coloured line printers around?

A client of the company i work for has asked for a HP coloured line printer and I have been given the task of finding it for him. Problem is while I can find HP line printers, I can't find HP coloured line printers. I don't think they exist, but then maybe I'm wrong and they do. Can anyone point me in the right path?

  1. I have never heard of any HP color line printers. let alone any recent color capable line printers from any manufacturer recently. There used to be a couple of color capable line printers I used to work on back in the mid 80's that were modified P-300 & P-600 Printronix Line Printers that were made by a company called Trilog. The Trilog color line printer models were C-100 & C-144, though they stopped making those a long time ago and I've never heard of any color line printers since, there just wasn't enough of a demand for something like that to make it justifiable to make. That is a very unique request and is so rare that I doubt anyone has anything like that with the advent of cheap color printer of other types like laser, inkjet, thermal, etc.... I think the best you could hope for in the way of a color line printer is to find a manufacturer of ribbons that offered color ribbons for a particular brand line printer. Though you would be limited to just one color at a time, whichever color of ribbon was installed at the time. There used to be some ribbon manufacturers that offered color ribbons for the Printronix brand line printers in the 80's & 90's, but I'm not even sure that those are still available. Here's a link I found that actually talks about and shows the C-144 model printer: http://origin-www.computer.org/plugins/dl/pdf/mags/co/1980/06/01653674.pdf?template=1&loginState=1&userData=anonymous-IP%253A%253AAddress%253A%2B76.25.241.215%252C%2B%255B76.25.241.215%252C%2B172.16.161.5%252C%2B127.0.0.1%255D
