how to make my printer work with remanufactured ink cartridges?

I cannot get my HP 4580 to use reman Ink Cartridges. I have used them with other printers in the past with great results but now this one will not take them. Can I overwrite the settings somehow?

1. Have you tried removing the ink cartridges, powering down your printer, unplugging it for about 5 minutes, and then turning it back on? It should prompt you to reinstall the ink cartridges when it boots back up. If that doesn't work you might want to uninstall the printer ink monitoring software.
