How do I take out the power supply in my Hp Pavilion p6280t desktop computer?

I'm replacing the power supply but I can't figure out how. Can somebody give me a link to a video or detailed, step by step instructions on taking it out of my type of computer? Thanks.

  1. Um. You unscrew it from the case and take it out. Not much more really to tell you. The screw are usually always on the back of the case. So just unscrew them, and take the power supply out. Before you do this make sure you unplug all the cables and wire's.
  2. pretty sure this is what your looking for its the service and upgrade manual for your pc you will need foxit reader or adobe reader to view the pdf
  3. the procedure for replacing a psu in a desktop computer is the same for every make first open the case (usually the left side looking from the front will do) disconnect the disk drives then disconnect the large connector to the motherboard if you have a power supply going to the graphics card remove that as well now remove the four screws holding the psu in place loosen them first and support it when you remove last two or the psu will drop and maybe damage something fitting the new psu is the reverse of removal if you want something to give you more confidence take a look here http://compreviews.about.com/od/tutorials/ss/DIYPSU.htm
  4. It is actually quite simple as it is only held in with 4 screws. The wiring will only fit if inserted correctly as all the plugs and sockets are shaped to only fit one way. If you think it will help you could label all the leads on the old PSU, maybe draw yourself a picture of where they go, and then label the new PSU cables to match up before disconnecting the old one. Don't worry about all the wires, take your time and be logical. Be aware that you wont need all the wires, you will probably have loads left over. If you are unsure, get a friend to sit with you so you can both panic. :)
  5. 1. Unplug the computer. #2. Open the Case. Before you touch anything--Grip the Metal Frame of the Computer Case to ground yourself. This will keep you from accidentally Shocking the Motherboard and destroying the computer. #3. Lay the computer on its side. Look on the back of the Tower. You should see 4 screws holding the Unit in place. Locate them but do remove them. #4. Look inside the computer. Trace the Think Batch of Cables that run from the Power Supply to the motherboard. You will see a Thick White, Plastic Socket on the Motherboard AND on the end cable. Carefully grip the Socket end on the Motherboard--at the same time Grip the Socket on the cable end and pull( some sockets have a tiny latch)..Once it is separated. Look next to the CPU Fan. Some computers have a second small cable connected that powers the CPU. If connected..unplug. #5. Go back to the Back of the computer case and unscrew the 4 screws---PAY ATTENTION to which way the PSU is placed because it is possible to put back in upside down. You're finished. Just reverse these steps to install a new PSU. Good Luck.
