HP Digital Camera not working properly?
I have an HP photosmart M425 digital camera. When I turn it on it goes directly to the pictures already on the camera and the lense does not come out. When I push anything it does nothing and I can't take pictures. Does anyone know what the problem is? Worked just fine the last time I used it. I have tried new batteries and I don't believe there is any debris causing a problem in the lense area. I will say that occasionally it will work but only about 1 out of 10 times. Thank you for your help in advance.

- To be totally honest, a long time ago I owned an HP camera - it was junk. This company likes to cut lots of corners in everything they build. These little cameras are not repairable - they are a throw away item like a cell phone. Not if, but when, it breaks you throw it away and buy a new one. I'd suspect that's what you'll have to do here.
- Definitely sounds like a trip back to HP. I would call them first. I am sorry I don't have HP's number in my list as I am not fond of their products and consider them mainly a printer company. That said if you check the back of your manual, Oops the back of the "english" section you should find a 800 number that you can call and get the right information. If they ask you to send in the camera, ask for an estimate if it is out of warranty. Even if it is in warranty say something like this : Hp photosmart M425, serial # 00000000, purchased 00/00/0000 if repair not covered by warranty, please estimate repair cost. Don't be lazy, do this yourself! If you take the camera to a camera store or back where you bought it they will DOUBLE the shipping and repair cost (if there is one)! Good Luck! P.S. I just read Jim A's answer and he is right in regards to the cost. Most econmical digital cameras are non repairable from a cost stand point. But as they say "it doesn't hurt to try"....'tis up to you.
