What is the best digital camera similar to professional cameras?

I'm looking for a camera that takes pictures like professional cameras. Of course, getting the best camera would be out of my price range. so im looking for a camera in a reasonable price which similar to an SLR. I've got an eye on the some Panasonic Lumix also, so If you could, could you also tell me which of the camera's in Panasoc Lumix is the best and is what I am looking for? point and shoots are no where near the quality of dslrs. you might think a dslr is a professionals tool but many amateurs and semi pros use them. for dslrs there are entry level, mid level, and pro level. cameras like these are the nikon d3100, nikon d90, and nikon d300s, respectively. a dslr will also last a lot longer than any point and shoot. I suggest you go to a store and try one out because dslrs are truly amazing cameras! good luck
