Recommend a printer for low volume but good quality print?
Hi, can anyone recommned a colour printer, capable of duplex printing, for a small home office. I have low volume printing but the quality would still need to be reasonably good for pictures. The pictures are printed on standard office paper. I currently use a Xerox Phaser 8560 (which uses solid ink) and the quality is fantastic but I'm going to have to get rid of it for financial reasons. I also don't like the fact that it's supposed to be kept on at all times. Turning it off and on is against the manufacturers guidelines. The cheaper the better but I know it's won't be dirt cheap either so whatever recommendations anyone has is much appreciated. Thanks,.

- Go to the Epson website and see what's in your price range. Best quality printers
- A laser is better than an inkjet for everything except high resolution photos. If you must have hi res photos, you need an inkjet. Otherwise get a laser. The advantages of a laser are: faster and sharper print (except photos), low per page cost, low volume is no problem. You can leave it off for months and it will still work. A laser can do reasonable photos that will look pretty good, just not high resolution. With an inkjet, if you dont use it on a regular basis, the ink dries up and clogs so it's not recommended for very low volume.
