2. If it is one year old, then 10% less than your purchased price. If it is two year old, then 25% less than your purchased price. If it is three or more years old, then 35% less than your purchased price.
3. You'll probably find that it is difficult to get what you think is a reasonable offer for your laptop, since the current models change so quickly. This I think is a tactic used by the manufacturers to minimise 'trade-in' prices... (I reckon a laptop undergoes at least 50 percent depreciation when you remove a new one from its box, charge the power supply and switch it on for the first time... and I'm probably being optimistic in that assumption!) The previous reply (from ?) is definitely wildly optimistic...
