lexmark laser printer problem?

I have a lexmark t640, and when I print reports or emails, they print ok. but when I print signs, it prints in dots instead of printing words. Any suggestions on any part that needs to be replaced? I was thinking the fuser, but not 100 % sure. Thanks

1. I doubt that it's your fuser. The fuser doesn't do anything different than it's basic job of melting the toner into the paper from one type of job to another. So if it prints OK with everything else but your signs, then I'd say it has something to do with the application you're using to print the signs instead of anything the printer is doing. The printer only does what it's told to do. There may be an issue with compatibility between the application you're using and the printer driver, but I'd take a closer look at the application itself if it were me. Knowing some more details would help.
