Is my HP power supply toast?

My HP power supply is beeping when i plug it into my laptop. I didnt even know they made a sound!! I'm thinking its toast. If so, HP power supplies are pieces of shit! I've gone through like 4 of them already and my laptop is only 1.5 yrs old. HP = piece of shit, I will never buy any one of their products ever again.

1. Check the bottom post by Peter Pan here; http://forums.techarena.in/hardware-peripherals/1321766.htm It appears that the fragile part is the DC cable portion of AC Adapter or power brick.
