HP Store Online

3 q's; Dual boot Xp (ins.) and Win 7, XBOX through PC monitor, and laptops with same keys as HP DV7 2014tx?

First; I have a Windows XP desktop, and I would like to dual boot it with Windows 7. Is this easily do-able, recomended (in terms of it wont blow up my computer or anything equally stupid), and can I do this using the Windows 7 (Home Premium) upgrade, or do I have to buy the whole operating system (main concern is the gap in cost)? Second, I would like to (also due to budgetary constraints, I am but a simple apprentice truck mechanic, also doesnt help with the skill level :-) ) run an Xbox 360 (the latest one, which I am yet to purchase) through my 21.5" ASUS monitor, and I know that one can get an Xbox to VGA cable (http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews/xbox-360/40/Xbox-360-VGA-HD-AV-Cable/p1/) that allows you to do this, however, I would like to know whether there is some kind of switching box I can get (not online from "Dodgey Bros" in China mind, somewhere in NSW or a reputable online Australian store) that allows me to plug in my monitor, my Xbox and my computer, and switch between the two (Xbox and PC)? Mainly to reduce wear on the cables and connectors etc, and due to limited room in, around, and behind my desk where the cables are. My third and final question is; is there a laptop out there in the big wide wilderness of computers that have the same keys (and springy things, etc, namely the ENTER key) as a HP DV7 2014tx notebook? None of my local computer dealers are able to fix it, as they "cant get access to HP parts", and the only one that is "authorised" wants to charge me $200 to fix it. The rubber bit is still there, and it still works, I simply need the rest of it! And I dont really like the idea of $200 for one single key! Anyhoo, enough rambling, thanks a heap in advance, Matt Thankyou TaintedJ. Would this thing work? http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XH0436/belkin-flip-kvm-with-audio-usb-wired-remote.jsp This is about the only thing I can find that has one VGA output and switches between 2 VGA inputs

  1. for the 2nd question: you mean like a kvm switch? http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/public/mSveahXoy5uNdrG3x1EwfePHSb9uvSYso-KyJ6gspsJzs4sc0SwMGWSqYkyBz1PX9IkrXFgExSkTMAJ2OD9mU4Cki2man0HsBNIKQiWzqXR9b77pEGpJVltJwXlXBCjvarHpZAPfV0spSJjtYTEurnxOSnUIzJIEa7CvpIir9eAw0Li_n5cniWH1UnBF8hm7j2pr
  2. To answer your first question: Dual booting is very common and in fact, most users use this feature. It's very simple to do, but you will need to buy the OS in order to complete it since it's not an upgrade. You can buy the OEM version which is cheaper though.
