how do I download hp printer software?

My hp pavilion was infected by virus. It was wiped out by a computer shop. Now, my hp tower does not recognize my deskjet 3740 printer. HP website wants to deal with selling stuff and warranty matters. I have no disc from my old deskjet printer. Please, no "should have" answers. Thanks.

This is usually not a big problem, just go to the HP website, and enter your printers model number, and if you have it registered the serial number, and you should be able to go the software download section and take care of your problem easily. I would double check the HP website, or contact them, most printer websites usually have what you are looking for. You may have just overlooked it. Not that hard to do, on some sites, as they do what to sell stuff. Have you tried, disconnecting your printer, and turning off your computer, then plugging the printer back in and switching on the Computer so your OS will find it and reconnect with your printer, seeing it as a new addition.
2. Just select your operating system and download the drivers. After downloading, you can put the driver information on CD if you want.
