Which brand of digital cameras is better? Nikon Coolpixes or Sony Cyber-shots?

I am looking into getting a new camera, and I want a very nice, sleek, good digital camera. Well, I've come down to either the Nikon Coolpix S3000 or the Sony Cyber-shot W310. Which brand do you prefer? I'm leaning towards the Nikon camera, but I wanna know your opinion :)

1. Of these two I'd pick the Nikon... well actually I'd pick Canon but of your list - Nikon.
2. Sony point-and-shoot cameras are better built than the Nikons. They're also much easier to use.
