Do hp printer drivers made for windows 2000 work for 98?

I'm helping a friend install a printer in his business. The computer runs on windows 98 but the drivers for the HP Officejet J5700 only go as low as windows 2000. Will the driver be compatible?

1. not to my knowledge google the drivers win 98 or go to the hpsite
2. No Time to upgrade the computer. Since Microsoft discontinued support for 98 other manufactures have started to do the same.
3. It's not going to work but it wouldn't hurt to try the Win XP drivers.
4. Win98 gives some special problems with external drivers. It's 16-bit and all other Win releases were 32-bit. If you even had Win95, it would be possible to download an NT version of the driver and have a 50/50 chance it would work. All you can do is try. And, HP brand is the printers that usually worked through all my hardware upgrades. Try a web search, if that doesn't work, try tech support with HP.
5. No chance. Upgrade ur OS!
