Is it worth to replace motherboard on HP Pavilion laptop?

I think my laptop's motherboard died! so is it worth to replace motherboard on HP Pavilion laptop? or should I just buy a new one?? I've noticed that refurbished laptops are less expensive...is it worth buying a computer like that?

1. laptop motherboard are rarely replaceable as they are proprietary and only the same model motherboard could be used. Also replacing a motherboard in a laptop will takes several hours of hard labor, if not a few days.
