HP CP1215 Printer Toner Question?

I just bought an HP CP1215 Color Laser Jet Printer and was just wondering if it will operate with just the black toner installed and no color toners? As the toners are expensive, I'd like to buy just the black toner for now and get the color toners later. But...I need to know if the machine will work properly without the colored toners installed. Thank you!

1. Yes it will, just make sure that when you are choosing printing options, you click Print in Grayscale, Black Ink Cartridge only.
2. NO, most all color printers, inkjet & laser, require all the cartridges be installed in the printer. If they're not installed, the printer will have an error that won't clear and you won't be able to print. The printers require all cartridges to be present, there is no way around that. Now whether it will work or not if the cartridges are out of toner is another issue. Some will let you bypass the error if they're out of ink or toner, but others require the cartridges to not be out of ink or toner, really depends on the particular model. Your model will let you override the cartridge error if it's out of toner or reached the end of life point and allow you to continue printing, but it will not override a missing cartridge. You can try it with just the black toner cartridge, but you'll find that it won't let you do anything until the other cartridges are installed. It's just the way they're designed.
