Recommendations for buying a laptop?
Which laptop should I get? Honestly, I'm not too picky about which brand/features on the laptop. But I was thinking about Dell, HP, or Toshiba. The laptop would be for everyday use such as doing homework, surfing web, and watching movies occasionally. The price doesn't matter as long its like $800 or less. Just want a laptop with the medium amount of memory and speed. Besides that, it really doesn't matter. Any suggestions? Since the Labor Day Weekend is coming up, laptops would be on sale and it would be a good time to buy them. :) Also, the Labor Day Weekend is comming up so time to buy would be good

- Don't get Dell. I hear way too many horror stories about that brand, and my boyfriend is currently having problems with his. I would stick with something like Sony or Toshiba.
- This may not sound new, but a mac. It is reliable, and it works. I've never had problems doing homework or watching movies, or surfing the web on it. Hope this helps.
- I really dont care for toshiba but hp and dell are good. check out their websites they have sales and you could save some money.
- I'm going to get this one http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668590.php?recid=529668590&series=529598113&tab=review&consumer=2.10.new It's a Gateway and has 500 GB hard drive with 4 GB of RAM. If your local best buy doesn't have it you can request they order it, or just order online. One drawback I've heard is the battery life but everything else is good. I see it online selling between $600-650.
