Highly recommended laptop brand?
After having my computer for 3 years the motherboard on my dell desktop went out. Anyway, I'm looking to get a laptop like the one my Mom has(which I've been using for now). I've looked in the ads for back school sales nad so far the main laptops I've seen on sale are the HP and toshiba brands. I've seen Sony, Acer and Compaq too, my brother has an HP which has taken a pretty good beating, my sister had a Toshiba in during her college days(2001) before it went out 5 years later. I've been looking at laptops on sale and ones that are in a reasonable price range. I hear HP and Toshiba are good brands but by the end of the day I'm just interested in a laptop that's a good buy and is decent. Can anyone recommend a good laptop brand?

- Dell...toshiba and hp are garbage
- Toshiba is okay...but HP, Gateway, & Dell all have good processors and will give you a good computer.
- Simple, Asus is the best brand in my opinion, nothing compares to them. They are down right reliable, they have great performance and they offer great pricing. I've had Asus, HP, Dell, and Toshiba all before and my Asus is still performing great while most the others have had problems and some have completely died out. If your looking for a Laptop that has a great price for it's specs then check this Asus Laptop out. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00352LQYO?ie=UTF8&tag=httpwwwrivalt-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00352LQYO
- Hey there. I definitely do not recommend Dell just because I had many problems with their products (Most didn't even last 3 years). HP is a good brand and I recommend it, except it comes with a lot of useless programs but they can be removed. I'm currently using an ASUS laptop. ASUS laptops aren't TOO expensive and so far it's working great for me. But if you are looking for a good deal price-wise then I suppose HP is better since they have so many sales. Check out www.newegg.com for cheap prices on laptops/computers.
- I have an HP and I really love it, I have to clean it up every now and then because certain programs are junk, but I do like it. HPs can run a bit warm though, so a bigger battery lifting up the laptop is good for ventilation. I would not suggest a Toshiba because their batteries are generally crap. My brother's was screwed up and I've heard many others' Toshiba laptops have similar problems. Compaq is HP, they were bought out awhile ago. Asus is good, I'm about to get a netbook from them, I think, and Acer tends to be over priced. Sony... eh. They can be a bit pricey and it's not their specialty... Hope this helps
