I am looking for a HIgh Quality Color Laserjet Printer?

Our office is looking to lower our toner costs by possibly investing in a new printer altogether. Currently we are using an HP 3550 which is satisfactory for what we do, however the replacement toner cartridges cost is $500+ every few months, which in my opinion is ridiculous. If you have suggestions and would like to help, feel free to leave your insight or personal experience. Thanks for the input!

  1. Sadly $500 for a set of replacements is actually what you should be expecting to pay. The fact is that all color laser printers are extremely expensive to run, some more than others. You have a very reasonable printer. Although the running costs are obscene, they are actually less offensive than ANY newer printer you would be using. I would recommend instead of scrapping the printer, try compatible toners. Amazon has them listed. You can get a set for a little over $100, fully guaranteed. If they work out, you have saved $400, if they don't you get your money back. What do you have to loose? I run compatibles in my CLJ 2550, never had an issue. I have probably, as a result saved about $10,000. Just buy from a reputable dealer.
