Do laser printers need a black ink toner?

I just bouught an HP Model # P1006 laser printer and I installed it but it says it needs a black toner cartridge. Does this come with it or do I need to buy it? Please help I am so confused

1. If you got one with it, the toner cartridge would be in a foil bag and would be about 15 - 25cm long. it would also say 'Toner Cartridge' on it. If you didnt see anything that matches this description, you probably need to buy one.
2. Yes, laser printers need black toner. Typically the manufacturers packaging will indicate whether or not the toner is included. If the toner was not in the box, you'll need to go buy it of course.
3. Depending on where you bought it, some come with the cartridge, some don't. If it is already installed, you will need to ensure the protective film is removed. It can be identified by a (usually) blue tab on one side of the cartridge. Grasp it tightly and PULL!!!
