What are the best cheap digital cameras with manual zoom lenses.?

Public Comments

  1. There aren't any. The closest you'll come to "manual" is a button you push to activate the zoom motor. The only truly manual focus lenses are on SLR cameras - starting around $500. for camera and lens.
  2. Unfortunately, there are NO cheap or even inexpensive dSLR's that can use older manual zoom lenses, how ever most can use lenses that have a switch on them to make them manual. There are also many cameras that have switches on them that allow for manual focus as well. You can check the Nikon D3000, Canon XS, Pentax K-x or other low priced entry level camera at your local camera store and have them show you how to use them in the manual modes
  3. The cheapest solution is buy a used or refurbished DSLR Sugested models are Nikon D40, D3000 Canon 400D Pentax iDST Olympus E-420 Sony A100, A230 All of these can be found for under $400 and sometimes under $300. They should come with a short zoom lens or you can buy an appropriate zoom off of Ebay. The price will vary depending on the length of the zoom.
  4. Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LITT3I?ie=UTF8&tag=digitsy-marina-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002LITT3I and Canon EOS Rebel T1i .http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0020HRE1Y?ie=UTF8&tag=digitsy-marina-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0020HRE1Y but they are not cheap.
