How can I save my fountain pen ink cartridges?

I have a set of three pens (different nibs) and 8 colors of ink cartridges in the plastic tubes. My question is this... If I want to put a color aside for a while, is there a way to save a half empty tube of ink?

1. I'd just put it in a baggie and make sure it's upright so it doesn't spill. I don't think ink evaporates.
2. you cant now throw them away.
3. They would have to be in an airtight container, to keep them from evaporating. If the cartridges are short enough, you could put them upright in a pill bottle. Coin holding tubes (plastic, with a screw on top) can also work.
