What is the difference between these Canon PowerShot digital cameras?

I want a new digital camera, and Canon PowerShot was recommended to me. It's for casual, vacation picture use. What's the difference between the Canon PowerShot SD1200-IS and the Canon PowerShot A1100-IS. The latter is cheaper, but will it be lower quality?
