what is the difference between powershot and ixus series of canon digital cameras?

which do you suggest me to by of these two cameras?canon digital camera IXUS 850 IS OR canon digital camera POWERSHOT A710 IS?

1. powershot is american - full 12 month warranty ixus is from Europe - 3 month warranty the a710is is a better camera I have it
2. Correct - Canon seems to market the same camera under slightly different names in the different geographies. For instance, the Digital Rebel XTi in the US is known as the 400D in Europe.
