HP Store Online

went to walmart for black friday to get a $298 HP laptop but got a rain check instead?

We were given a ticket which promised us that we would get the laptop. I waited in line from 2am to 5 am. They ran out so the store manager wrote her name on the back of the ticket and told us that she would be calling us. They didn't call so i called them today... They told me 3 solutions: 1) buy an Acer laptop for the $298 price 2) buy an HP laptop for $398 3) wait until christmas sales come around. I really wanted the HP laptop and i feel like i got low-balled. I'm angry because i waited in line for 3 hours and walked out with nothing. I don't want to settle for less...what should i do?

  1. Raise hell and hope for the best. If you got a valid rain check ticket that is even signed by a manager, that is your "promise" that you will get that exact item for the advertised price. Here is the definition of "rain check": n. An assurance to a customer that an item on sale that is sold out or out of stock may be purchased later at the sale price. And here is Walmart's policy on Rain Checks: Walmart's Advertised Merchandise Policy - We intend to have every advertised item in stock. However, we may not offer some items in all locations, and quantity or availability may vary due to unexpected demand or other circumstances beyond our control. If an advertised item is out-of-stock at your Walmart, upon your request, we will issue you a Rain Check so that you can purchase the item at the advertised price when it becomes available. In addition, we may offer to sell you a similar item at the advertised price or a comparable price reduction. "While Supplies Last" items, "Bonus" items, items identified as being available in limited quantities, and items that are not carried at your Walmart do not qualify for Rain Checks or offers of substitute items. "WHILE SUPPLIES LAST" items are items that we carry at a special price for a limited time or that we do not intend to continue to carry on a regular basis. "BONUS" items are items that include a bonus amount of the same item or an additional bonus item at no extra cost. "ROLLBACK" means that the advertised price is even lower than the previously offered Every Day Low Price. In all cases, we reserve the right to limit quantities to normal retail purchases or one-per-customer or household, and to exclude dealers. Our advertising circular may vary by geographic region, and any particular regional circular will apply only to stores in that region. Offers and limitations void where prohibited by law. We apologize for, but will not be bound by, any errors in our advertisements. If the store still does not give in, try to contact another Walmart store, and see what they do with their Rain Check policy. Good luck.
